High-Precision Wedge Wire Cylinder Screens for Industrial Filtration
Custom-engineered V-wire screen cylinders with non-clogging surfaces and high mechanical strength. Ideal for rotary screens and resin traps.
What is a Wedge Wire Cylinder Screen?
A wedge wire cylinder screen (also known as a V-wire screen pipe) is manufactured by wrapping a continuous V-shaped profile wire around longitudinal support rods. This creates a point-contact filtration surface that minimizes clogging and maximizes flow rates.
- Flow Direction: FOTI (Flow Out-to-In) or FITO (Flow In-to-Out).
- Structure: Radial or Axial wire orientation.
- Slot size from 0.02mm to 10mm
- Material: SS 304, 316L, Duplex Steel
- Diameters: 20mm to 2500mm
Key Features
Non-Clogging
The V-shaped opening narrows at the face and widens inwardly, allowing particles to pass without jamming.
High Precision
Automated welding technology ensures uniform slot gaps and perfect circularity for high-speed rotating equipment.
Easy Backwashing
Smooth surface allows for efficient mechanical scraping or pressure back-pulsing.

Frequently Asked Questions
The lead time typically varies depending on the complexity of the design, the volume of the order, and current material availability. Generally, you can expect the following:
Standard Custom Orders: 2 to 4 weeks.
Complex or Large-Scale Projects: 6 to 8 weeks.
Rush Orders: Some manufacturers offer expedited services (7–10 days) depending on the availability of the specific wire profiles and stainless steel grades required.
Note: Lead time begins after the final approval of technical drawings and receipt of a purchase order.
Yes. Most specialized manufacturers work primarily from customer-provided technical drawings.
Formats: We typically accept CAD files (DWG/DXF), PDFs, or SolidWorks files.
Engineering Review: Before production, a technical team will usually review your drawings to ensure the design is optimized for manufacturing (DFM) and that the requested tolerances are achievable.
Customization: This includes specific requirements for support rods, wire profiles, framing, flanges, and reinforcement bars.
Choosing the correct slot size (opening) is critical to the efficiency of your filtration or separation process. Here are the key factors to consider:
Particle Size Analysis: The slot size should generally be half the size of the smallest particle you wish to retain. If you are using the screen for media retention (like resin or sand), the slot should be small enough to prevent the media from passing through or becoming wedged.
The “Rule of Two-Thirds”: In some water well or intake applications, the slot is sized to allow the finest 60–70% of the surrounding natural material to pass through during development, leaving the coarser material to form a natural filter pack.
Flow Rate Requirements: Smaller slots provide finer filtration but increase pressure drop and reduce the open area. If you need a high flow rate, you may need to balance a smaller slot with a larger total screen surface area.
Open Area Percentage: Calculate the “Open Area” (Slot Size / [Slot Size + Wire Width]). A higher open area reduces the velocity of the fluid passing through the screen, which minimizes erosion and clogging.
Material Consistency: If you are dealing with “trashy” or fibrous material, you may need a specific wire profile (like a tilt-wire) or a slightly larger slot to prevent blinding (clogging).
Recommendation: If you are unsure, it is best to provide a sample of the material you are filtering or a Particle Size Distribution (PSD) report so the engineering team can recommend the optimal slot width.
