Advanced Flow In-to-Out (FITO) Separation

The Internally Fed Rotary Drum Screen is a mechanical filtration device where the influent enters the inside of the rotating drum. Solids are captured on the internal surface of the wedge wire screen and transported to the discharge end by internal flights or a screw conveyor.

This "In-to-Out" design is particularly effective for high-fat/grease wastewater and pulp recovery, as it prevents external splashing and ensures all solids are directed into the collection hopper.

Internally Fed Rotary Drum Screen

Ideal for smaller vertical vessels. Laterals radiate from a central hub, ensuring even coverage across the entire bed diameter.

Externally Fed Rotary Drum Screen

Best for large diameter vessels or horizontal tanks. A central header pipe with multiple side laterals ensures balanced flow across large surface areas.

Advanced Features

Self-Cleaning System

Integrated internal and external spray bars ensure the screen remains unclogged even with sticky or fibrous materials.

Low Operational Cost

Automatic operation with low power consumption and minimal wear-and-tear components.

Large Flow Capacity

The cylindrical design provides a massive surface area, handling higher flow rates than traditional static screens.

How It Works

Internal Feed

Wastewater enters the headbox and is distributed onto the inner surface of the rotating drum.

Filtration

Liquid passes through the wedge wire slots, while solids are retained inside.

Internal Transport

Integrated helical flights move the captured solids toward the open end of the drum.

Cleaning & Discharge

An external spray bar cleans the slots, and solids drop into a collection hopper.

Frequently Asked Questions

Internally fed screens are better for containing odors and splashes, and they are superior for capturing light or floatable solids that might bypass an external screen.

Yes, we equip our internal screens with specialized high-pressure spray bars and hot water cleaning options specifically for grease-heavy applications.

Maintenance is minimal. Weekly inspection of the spray nozzles and monthly lubrication of the drive chain/bearings are usually sufficient.
